Precision Machining P80/P83 – Seatrium

This project exemplifies Engport Group’s “think big” philosophy. When we couldn’t find portable machining equipment suppliers in Brazil, we chose to develop our own solution.

THE EXTREME CHALLENGE

Seatrium needed to machine 70+ structural pads on platforms P80 and P83 for Petrobras. Specifications:

• Tolerance: ±0.05mm (fifty micrometers!)
• Roughness: Ra ≤ 6.3 μm
• Absolute flatness with dial indicator
• 100% Petrobras approval

P80: 3 months, 2 teams in rotation, 35+ pads – 100% approval

P83: Contract extended excellently – additional 3 months, 35+ pads – 100% approval
