JR Earthmoving contracted by the City Hall to modernize Praça do Pôr do Sol – emblematic seaside tourist spot.

THE PROPOSAL

Scope:

• Manufacture 200+ tons of metal structures
• Raw material processing
• On-site assembly
• Complete painting

Deadline:

• 60 days from start to final delivery
• Absolute deadline: December 23, 2022
• Reason: City Hall wanted square ready before Christmas and New Year’s (hundreds of thousands of tourists)

THE PRESSURE

• High-visibility project (seaside square, tourists, press)
• Mayor personally overseeing (multiple visits)
• No room for delays (political impact)

EXECUTION

30 MEN working simultaneously for 2 months:

Phase 1 – Workshop Fabrication (4 weeks):

• Cutting, bending, drilling
• Welding and assembly
• Finishing and priming

Phase 2 – On-Site Assembly (3 weeks):

• Transport (31 miles)
• Lifting of large structures
• Assembly and fastening
• Field welding

Phase 3 – Final Painting (1 week):

• Preparation
• Application of complete system
• Touch-ups
